What we do not buy
This site is limited to wire and cable. We do not buy transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, panelboards, busway, motors, generators, lighting, tools or general electrical equipment. Mixed lots are reviewed for the wire portion only.
How to describe a mixed lot
List each reel or group separately: type, size, footage, condition. Separate copper from aluminum and new surplus from removed cable. If two reels look identical, say so and give a combined footage. A short list is more useful than a paragraph.
Request a quote
Tell us what you have and attach photographs of the reels, tags and jacket print. We review every inventory and reply with a quote or a request for a few more details.
Wire buying questions
Which wire types are bought most often in Pennsylvania?
THHN and THWN-2 building wire, XHHW-2 feeder cable, MC cable, SER and SEU service cable, tray and control cable, and aluminum URD from utility and site work. Medium voltage cable appears less often but carries higher unit value.
Do you buy wire by the gauge rather than the reel?
Both. A single partial reel of 4/0 is reviewed the same way as a pallet of 12 AWG spools. The gauge pages explain what is typical for each size and what information helps a quote.
Can you identify wire from a photograph?
Usually. The print line on the jacket carries the type, size, voltage rating and standard. A clear photograph of the print plus the reel tag is normally enough to identify the construction.
What is the smallest quantity worth reviewing?
There is no fixed minimum, but freight and handling set a practical floor. A single small spool is rarely worth a dedicated pickup; a few reels or a pallet usually is.
Have surplus wire on the floor right now?
Send photographs of the reels, tags and jacket print. We will tell you what the material is worth as wire, not just as metal.
